TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A man accused of first-degree murder in a 2013 shooting in Tucson will get another trial next month after jurors couldn't reach a unanimous verdict. Donald Woods is accused of killing Brandon Luster outside an apartment complex last fall. Woods' lawyer says some of the witnesses who identified his client held grudges against Woods and used the shooting to as an opportunity for revenge.

Police shut down the area of Oracle and Wetmore roads for several hours yesterday after someone discovered the mortar shell near several car dealerships. The department posted a picture online that shows a rust-covered mortar shell. It's unclear how long the shell had been there.
PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Supreme Court is adopting a legal guideline that says police with a warrant to search a place may inspect personal items of a person not named in the warrant if the items aren't in that person's possession. The unanimous ruling yesterday upholds the convictions and sentences of a woman arrested while visiting a Kingman residence.
(AP) -- Minnesota's Maya Moore has won the WNBA most valuable player award after leading the league in scoring. She averaged a career-best 23.9 points and set a WNBA record by scoring at least 30 points 12 times, including in four straight games. The scoring mark was the third-highest average in league history, trailing only Phoenix's Diana Taurasi's 25.3 points in 2006 and 24.1 in 2008.
