EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) - Paul Pressey, Jim Eyen and Mark Madsen will be Byron Scott's assistant coaches with the Los Angeles Lakers. Scott announced his coaching staff for the upcoming season Tuesday. Pressey was on Scott's staffs in Cleveland and New Orleans. Eyen returns to the Lakers after three seasons as an assistant coach under Pat Riley and Mike Dunleavy from 1989-92. Madsen is a former Lakers forward, winning championship rings as a backup in 2001 and 2002.

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - David Shaw had to search through his practice plans from 2011 to determine how he wanted to approach Stanford's two-week stretch between games. Forgive the coach for needing a refresher. After all, it has been three years since Stanford had a full bye week - and this season it actually has two. The Cardinal had a couple of extra days off before and after a Thursday night game each of the past two seasons. Coming off a 35-0 win over Army on Saturday, the next game for No. 16 Stanford (2-1, 0-1 Pac-12) is at Washington on Sept. 27. Stanford also has a bye Nov. 8 between games against Oregon and Utah.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Forward Devante Smith-Pelly has agreed to a two-year, $1.6 million deal to return to the Anaheim Ducks. The club announced the deal Tuesday. Smith-Pelly has scored 23 points in 75 games over the past three seasons with the Ducks, bouncing between the NHL and Anaheim's AHL affiliates. He had two goals and eight assists in 19 games last year for the Ducks.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - The Sacramento Kings are planning to retire Peja Stojakovic's No. 16 jersey. The Kings announced Tuesday that Stojakovic's jersey will be retired when they host Oklahoma City on Dec. 16. He joins Vlade Divac (21), Chris Webber (4) and Mitch Richmond (2) as the only players to have their jerseys retired by the Kings since the franchise moved from Kansas City in 1985.
