Kristy has been honing her storytelling skills since she entered and won her first 4-H youth speech competition at age 8.
As a meteorologist, reporter and fill-in anchor at FOX 10, she’s passionate about educating viewers on a variety of topics, from technology, to politics, to arts and culture. Kristy’s unique ability to both educate and entertain has made her a favorite with valley viewers. Several local magazines and websites have named her “Best Weather Personality” several years running.
Kristy’s career in television began in San Francisco, where she worked as a reporter, one-man-band video journalist, and weather anchor for KRON 4 News and CBS 5. There she covered several stories of national interest, including the end of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and the Occupy Wall Street Movement. Several of Kristy’s favorite assignments took her to Bryant Park and Lincoln Center in New York, where she reported on Mercedes-Benz Fashion week.
Prior to her career in broadcasting, Kristy worked as spokeswoman, corporate trainer, and multimedia producer for several national non-profits, including the American Kennel Club and Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. Kristy’s continued her involvement with the community here in the valley, volunteering her time with several animal and youth charities.
Kristy holds a BA in Psychology from Duke University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude. She also holds a Masters in Multimedia Communications from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she was selected as the valedictorian for all graduate programs.
When the studio lights are off, you’ll find Kristy flipping through the pages of Food and Wine, binge-watching TED Talks, and occasionally flying on the trapeze.
