State universities to release tuition proposals

PHOENIX (AP) - The presidents of Arizona's three state universities are set to release their proposal for tuition and fee increases for the coming school year.

Friday's release kicks off a multi-step process leading up to a May 4 decision by the Board of Regents on costs students will have to pay in the 2015-2016 academic year.

The regents will hold an interactive hearing at eight university campuses across the state on April 20 to hear comments from students and the public regarding the proposals.

The presidents of the university of Arizona, Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University will present their proposals in person during an April 27 regents workshop at ASU's Tempe campus.
