    Long Island native Madison Beer seems to be walking the same path to super-stardom as her mentor - and the person who discovered her- Justin Bieber. The pop star was on YouTube one day and found a video of Beer singing 'At Last' by Etta James. "I posted a YouTube video when I was 12 about to turn 13 and then Scooter and Justin had gotten in contact with my mom. She was like you're Justin  Bieber, right, right," said Beer about the moment that changed her life.

    At least a dozen scathing reviews were printed about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s new book on a preservative used in vaccines before it was released. It's not fair, says Kennedy Jr., and he explained why during Good Day New York. "They attacked me for what they believed was going to be in the book which was a discussion about autism and that is not in the book," said Kennedy Jr.

    When 826 NYC, a nonprofit organization that fosters creative writing skills, asked children ages 9-12 to dream up the ultimate lemonade stand, the responses were huge. The winning project of  The Great Lemonation Imagination Collaboration was turned into a real lemonade stand complete with free lemonade in Manhattan's Flatiron District. The organization's members were also required to help run the stand that went up at Broadway and 23rd Street on Wednesday.

To be back on Broadway is a great time,” said Maroulis. The Brooklyn born New Jersey raised performer returned to the role he helped create this summer. The question was never if, but when, he would come back.

    Many of Major League Baseball's biggest stars will turn out for a special event at Brooklyn's MCU Park.  The 10th Annual New York-Penn League All-Star Game takes place on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The players will be on hand to sign autographs prior to the Celebrity/Civil Service Softball challenge. Rosanna Scotto will be the captain of the blue team. Greg Kelly will be playing, too.

The U.S. Tennis Association brought in the men's and women's trophies that will be awarded at the end of the tournament in Flushing, Queens to the best tennis players in the world. The perpetual trophies have all the past winners' names on it including the 2013 champs, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams.

She took the concept behind the video conversations-- where she cooks while liquored up-- and posted them to YouTube. The rest is history. “I had a friend in a low place and I had just moved. We were talking on G-chat on a web cam. I started drinking and cooking and it inadvertently launched the rest of my career," said Hart.

    Both a park and an art museum, the best time to visit the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey could be now. The 42-acre sculpture park on the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds is hosting an exhibit by Seward Johnson of the Johnson & Johnson family. Among his pieces on display is a 25-foot statue of Marilyn Monroe, a representation of her "larger than life" persona, Seward calls 'Forever Marilyn.' The exhibit will be presented through Sept. 21.

He was the mystery patient in isolation at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. His name was not released and his mother was told not to visit. After a blood sample was sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Silverman was discharged. It turned out, his flu-like symptoms were not that of the Ebola virus.

    The countdown clock is ticking towards the start of the Special Olympics USA Games this weekend in New Jersey. Excitement for the big event hit a high on Wednesday when the Law Enforcement Torch Run made its way through Times Square. The Flame of Hope has been carried by Special Olympics athletes and more than 100 law enforcement volunteers from across the country in a five-day run with the final destination the Prudential Center in Newark on Sunday for the opening ceremony.

I moved on and became so successful. Wonderful things happen when you have to evolve and be strong."
