Kansas City Chiefs' Marcus Peters surprises boy with Air Jordans for being respectful to his mom

- Ever since the first Air Jordan sneakers debuted in 1985, they have been a must-have for children and adults alike. So it’s no surprise that’s what Larissa Coffie’s 12-year-old son ZaMarion picked up when they were at a shoe store in the mall.

But Air Jordans aren’t cheap. The Air Jordan Retro 5 that ZaMarion held in his hands runs close to $200. According to KansasCity.com, ZaMarion put down the shoes when his mother asked him to. That’s when a stranger named Marcus offered to buy the shoes for him-- all because he was respectful to his mother and did what she asked.

Coffie told KSHB.com, “There was this guy standing behind us and he said, ‘Oh that was very nice. He went and put that down very respectful. He didn’t smack.’”

Not only did he purchase the pair of shoes he was looking at, he purchased him another pair of shoes too. After posting the story on Facebook, Larissa soon learned who Marcus was -- Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters.

“Our family is truly grateful to that man for not trying to boast about who he was,” Coffie said. “He just did something out of the kindness of his heart and then disappeared. It was like he was an angel that popped in and popped out.”

Two days later, Marcus wasn’t in such a giving mood. He picked off a pass and returned a fumble for a touchdown against the Denver Broncos.
