RECIPE: Homemade marshmallow treats

Cake Pops

4 cups cake crumbs (about 14 ounces)
1/4 cup frosting (not whipped cream frosting), at room temperature
(If using red velvet cake use regular cream cheese in place if frosting)

Easy Butter cream Frosting

4 cups powdered sugar
2 cups unsalted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy with electric mixer.
Add vanilla extract. Use immediately to create cake pop dough.

Homemade Marshmallow Treats

¾ oz powdered gelatin
1 cup cold water
1 ½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
Pinch of salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Sprinkle the gelatin over ½ cup of the cold water in bowl, allow to absorb.
Combine sugar, corn syrup, and remaining ½ cup water, cook on stovetop to reach 240 F (softball stage).
Add gelatin to mixing bowl with whisk .Pour syrup slowly on side of bowl and allow to whip until cool.
Pour into a lined sheet pan and allow to set over night.  Cut shapes as desired.
Add water based color to create a festive holiday treat.
