2-yr-old boy who went missing in desert found, mother won't face charges

Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputies say a 2-year-old boy has been found after he wandered away from his mother on Sunday morning in a desert area in Buckeye.

The call for the missing boy came in just after 9am. MCSO spokesperson Deputy Joaquin Enriquez says the boy went missing in the area of 215th Avenue and Elliot while he and his mother were taking a walk. Bushes and dry bush in the area were making the search a challenge, as search and rescue crews, K-9's, and deputies on quads were all trying to find the missing toddler.

Just before Noon, Enriquez says the missing 2-year-old boy was found. The boy jumped out from behind a tree, and ran into the arms of a couple that was assisting with the search. The couple gave the boy some water, and he was reunited with his mother.

Enriquez says the boy's mother will not face charges.
