Peoria teacher pleads not guilty to sex charges

PEORIA, AZ (AP)  -  Peoria high school teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage student for years has pleaded not guilty.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 45-year-old Brian Woolsey entered his plea at his arraignment Friday. He has a Dec. 4 pretrial conference.

Woolsey and his wife were arrested Oct. 2. Jennifer Woolsey also is a teacher at Sunrise Mountain High and is accused of failing to report her husband's alleged abuse of the female student.

Police say Brian Woolsey began a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl in January 2010. The two kept the relationship secret for three years before the girl came forward and reported it to authorities.

Prosecutors say Brian Woolsey is facing charges of sexual conduct with a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.
