Wrong-way driver injures DPS trooper

PHOENIX - An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper was injured after getting involved in a collision with a wrong-way driver north of the valley.

This happened on I-17 near Badger Springs Road. The trooper suffered moderate injuries after the crash, and we're told the trooper's condition may be upgraded.

The driver was apprehended and treated for any possible injuries. Impairment has not been ruled out as a factor in the wrong-way crash.
