ASU begins termination of officer who arrested professor

Arizona State University Police are beginning the process of firing a campus police officer who arrested a professor last year.

Officer Stewart Ferrin had been on administrative leave since last May when dash cam video of him arresting Professor Ersula Ore went viral.

He reportedly stopped her for jaywalking, and she refused to show her identification.

She pleaded guilty to resisting arrest but accused the officer of wrongful arrest and excessive force.

Ferrin's attorney says the officer plans to appeal the decision.
