This year, it's a major ordeal for an Alabama, turf farmer.
An Alabama farmer is sending more than 90,000 feet of turf to Super Bowl 49.
"I did not realize we were growing the Super Bowl's grass here," said Alabama Agriculture Commissioner John McMillan.
The grass is grown on plastic and weighs 16 pounds per square foot; it's why you can lay it and play on it.
His grass was chosen for the big game and according to the farmer this isn't the first time his product has gained big recognition. The turf has also been used in other premier sporting events.
"I think all Alabamians will take a lot of pride in realizing that the grass, we're watching them play on, came from Foley, Alabama," said McMillan.
The turf will also be used in the Pro Bowl, which will be held the week before the Super Bowl.
