Worker dies after becoming entangled in machine

A 31-year-old worker was killed after he became entangled in a metal fabrication machine killed on Monday at an industrial plant.

Phoenix fire officials have confirmed the man was killed at Southwest Fabrication near I-17 and Deer Valley.

According to officials, the man's clothing got stuck in a metal fabrication machine around 8:30 a.m.

OSHA and Phoenix police are investigating.

According to it's website, Southwest Fabrication Center manufactures utility and transportation products.

The facility is more than 45,000 square feet on 10 acres of land and has been in business since 1997. They have about 50 employees.

OSHA's website shows that the company was investigated and fined for a pair of violations back in 2005. Although, it passed an inspection in 2009.

Police say they won't release the employee's name until the family has been notified.
