Man arrested after standoff with Phoenix police

A Phoenix man was arrested after causing an hours-long standoff with police that all started when a search warrant was being served at his home near 18th Avenue and Osborn.

Police say when they attempted to serve the warrant on Saturday night, 41-year-old Marcus Moore refused to surrender.

A large police presence surrounded the area and the barricade situation lasted for several hours.

As officers worked to negotiate with Moore, his family finally convinced him to surrender.

"This was not a hostage situation," stated Phoenix Police Sgt. Jonathan Howard.

Police have not said why Moore had an outstanding warrant.
