Fox 10's Anita Roman visits the NFL Experience which debuted in downtown Phoenix

It's being described as pro football's interactive theme park and it features everything you can imagine that has to do with the National Football League. Plus, it's all under one roof at the NFL Experience in Downtown Phoenix.

Doors officially opened today.

This is what the NFL Experience is all about.

"It's awesome," says Heather Cravener. "I've never been to anything like this."

Tens of thousands of square feet of...football. From the history of the game...to interactive clinics, the NFL Experience has it all.

"We're open for 9 days this year," says Vice President of Events for the NFL, Mary Pat Augenthaler. "We open today and we don't close until Super Bowl Sunday; we've never done that before."

Augenthaler says what you see here took over a year to plan; and the number one goal is to deliver the best Super Bowl Experience to every fan, especially those who are not going to the game.

"It's really important for our fans because we know that there's only a finite number of seats in the Pro Bowl stadium and the Super Bowl stadium, so this is the Super Bowl for everyone else who can't make it to the game," Augenthaler says.

"I think they're going to get a lot out of it," says Mike Cravener, another local football fan. "It's all geared towards them…They'll probably have more fun here than at the game."

One of the most exciting things about the NFL Experience is that fans can actually have their photo taken with the Lombardi trophy.

The trophy was unveiled at the opening of the NFL Experience and it will stay at the Phoenix Convention Center until Super Bowl Sunday. The line to see it is already long, which is why organizers say you shouldn't wait.

"Come this weekend, come starting today," Augenthaler says. "Don't wait until all the crowds come in and the city swells next weekend when we get so much closer to the game. The lines are shorter; it's a really great family experience for especially the local crowd this weekend."

The NFL Experience is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. today through January 31st, and from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, which is February 1st. Tickets cost $35 for adults and $20 for kids under 12.
