Police fatally shoot suspect at Motel 6

Phoenix police say undercover officers fatally shot a robbery suspect after he repeatedly rammed a stolen vehicle into a police vehicle.

Police say the incident occurred at a Motel 6 near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road on Tuesday night.

Sgt. Trent Crump says a fugitive apprehension team went to the motel after receiving a tip the suspect was there. He was wanted for several armed robberies.

Crump says officers lured him out of a motel room but that he immediately got into a stolen car, locked the doors and began ramming the police vehicle in an apparent attempt to get away.

According to Crump, that's when two officers shot the 25-year-old suspect. His identity wasn't released.

No officers were hurt.
