Avondale Police investigating incidents at elementary school

Avondale Police are investigating two separate incidents at Garden Lakes elementary school.

The first involved a sixth-grade girl who was caught bringing knives to school.

It happened on Tuesday and police eventually confiscated the knives and suspended the student for nine days.

The school says that no students were in any danger.

In a separate incident, a sixth-grade girl was caught with a kill-list, a sheet of paper that included the first names of several students.

The school notified the parents of the students who were on the list. They say the girl who wrote the list told police she never intended to harm anyone.
