Heavy fog causes major delays at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport

The fog created quite a few problems at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport Sunday. Fox 10's Ty Brennan spoke to some of those travelers affected by the weather.

You probably saw it this morning. All that fog, which caused some big problems for passengers trying to come in and out of Sky Harbor today.

You could hear the planes, but you couldn't see them. Some flights were able to leave Sky Barbor earlier today, but the fog affected a lot of air traffic this morning.

This couple arrived for their 9:30 flight to Omaha, only to find out it was delayed six hours!

There were a total of 30 flights that were canceled in and out of Sky Harbor, and about 80 were delayed. Plus, many flights bound for Phoenix had to divert to other airports, like Las Vegas and Albuquerque until the fog lifted.

This man drove up from southern Arizona, only to find out he'd be waiting a bit longer for his loved ones to arrive.

Meanwhile, the fog didn't diminish the crowds in downtown phoenix.

Some wondering if the fog will somehow have any effect on the big games outcome tonight.

The majority of those flights are back to normal, but here are still some cancellations and delays, so it's best to check with your airline before you head out here to the airport.
