Woman rescued from burning car, driver killed

 Fire crews say three people escaped a burning car in central Phoenix overnight.

At about midnight, two cars collided at 7th Avenue and Elwood and one of the vehicles caught fire. A Good Samaritan who happened to be walking by rushed over and pulled a woman out of the car just before it burst into flames, fire crews say.  Three people were trapped in the other vehicle -- an elderly woman, a 10-year-old boy and a man in his early forties.

A man behind the wheel was found dead on the scene from sever injuries.  The crash is now under investigation.
