Higley HS student dies; community to finish his Eagle Scout project

There is new information on a 16-year-old Higley High School Student, who died of a heart problem last week.

This weekend, friends and family of Riggs Gibbons are coming together to help complete his Eagle Scout project that he had been working on for the past six months.

His goal was to bring joy to sick kids staying in the hospital.

He had his project all planned out, organizing a car wash fundraiser to benefit kids at the Cardon Children's Medical Center.

His friends spent Thursday afternoon working on signs for the fundraiser.

Riggs' final act of kindness is a reflection of the person he was.

The Eagle Scout carwash fundraiser is taking place at the Walgreens at Williams Field and Higley from 9a-Noon on Saturday. Money and toys are being accepted as donations to benefit the children at the medical center.
