Federal road spending on decline in Arizona

Federal spending on roads and highways has dropped in Arizona. This means that congested freeways and bottlenecked interchanges in Metro Phoenix aren't likely to be fixed any time soon.

Revenue to Arizona from the Federal Highway Trust Fund declined three percent over the last five years; and highway funding for Arizona dropped eight percent.

Those reductions amount to millions of dollars.
