The school is located near Ocotillo Road and 220th Street.
The lockdown was later cleared, but MCSO Lt. Brandon Jones said deputies will increase their presence on campus for several days to ensure safety.
"Today at 9:48am QCHS administration was notified by the Sheriff's Department that they had received a bomb threat via a social media site called Whisper. Sheriff Officers have been mobilized and are on site. Other police resources have also been mobilized to QCHS. We are currently following our crisis response plan and are in lockdown. We have no indication that anyone is currently in danger but we are taking every precaution."
