Whether you've taken your children there or been there as a kid, the amusement park is part of many people's childhood memories.
But now the theme park's future is uncertain.
The city of Phoenix decided not to renew the current operator's contract and instead are looking for someone else to possibly run the park.
Enchanted Island is situated in the heart of Encanto Park near 15th Avenue and Thomas Road, but after years of being run by the same people, it looks like it will be changing hands.
On Thursday night, current management and supporters will attend a parks board meeting to demand Enchanted Island remain under the current operator's control.
Owners received word last month and say at the end of May they will have to pack up and will be taking some of the rides with them.
The city says there have been concerns about safety and park conditions that played a role in their decision, but the owners say they made the necessary repairs and are surprised with the decision.
"There were some concerns with conditions and some safety concerns that we asked them to take care of here in recent months," said Gregg Bach of the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department.
"We've never had anything that really stood out as an emergency or anything like that.. they are just little things than an operator would always need to be looking at," said Kraig Lyon, the owner and operator.
The city is opening up bids to the public to operate the park and say the current owners are welcome to put in their bid just like everyone else.
