School districts consider 4-day school week to save money

Kids in Apache Junction could be enjoying three day weekends soon.

Apache Junction Unified School District is considering moving to four day school weeks to save money.

The district is holding a public meeting on Tuesday night to talk about the proposal. The new schedule would create $5 million in reductions.

Several other districts are also considering four-day weeks, however, Coolidge Unified School District has already signed on.

They'll begin the new schedule for the 2015-2016 school year.
