VA: several patients and staff infected with norovirus

The Veterans Affairs Department is announcing that a number of patients and staff members have come down with a highly-contagious virus at the VA hospital in Phoenix.

The Department says 16 patients and 19 workers were infected with norovirus which can cause vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhea.

The Department said three patients are recovering and says everyone else has gotten better.

The VA hospital in Phoenix was the epicenter of the VA scandal last year that exposed improper wait times and other problems at VA facilities across the country.
