Walmart is looking to fill dozens of positions ahead of grand opening of Chandler supercenter

A new Walmart Supercenter is opening up in Chandler this week, and the store needs to fill dozens of positions before it opens its doors.

A job fair was held at the new location and the manager there says there's one thing that applicants seemed to be especially attracted to, the minimum wage increase.

"Since they announced that in the last couple of weeks, we've seen about 60 to 65 percent of our applicants are here because of the minimum wage increase," said manager Dan Lammes. "It actually went from $8.30 an hour to $9."

The retail giant is looking for cashiers, produce associates, and cart attendees, just to name a few. Anyone who's interested can apply online and you'll know within a matter of days if you're hired.

The store's grand opening is March 11th.
