Police: Murder suspect found near the scene covered in blood

Police say officers responded to multiple calls at an apartment complex on Saturday after one caller reported a man was breaking into his apartment and another reported a stabbing.

When officers arrived at the scene near 40th Street and Thomas, they spotted a man walking away from the area covered in blood.

"He was detained without incident and admitted to his involvement.  Officers found the original caller just outside of his apartment with multiple stab wounds.  He was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries," stated Phoenix Police Sgt. Jonathan Howard.

Police arrested 21-year-old Richard Enos.  Both he and the victim lived in the apartment complex.

Howard added, "Police are still in the process of determining the motive for the crime or what, if any, relationship the men had."

Enos was booked into jail for murder and burglary.

The 53-year-old victim's name has not been released.
