The fire department says seven teens and a 20-year-old were packed into an SUV around 10:30 p.m. The driver was reportedly going fast and rolled over.
"A lot of teenagers are out because its spring break, prom season's coming up, you have to protect yourselves. If someone's drinking, get out. If someone's driving erratically, get out of the vehicle," said Phoenix Fire Capt. Benjamin Santillan.
Two people were ejected from the SUV; they were not wearing seat belts.
The fire department says teens need to think before they go out with friends.
Make sure you have a seat belt and make sure the driver is okay.
"It's one of those times in a teenager's life you gotta make decisions, gotta get out of the vehicle if teenagers are driving erratically. Call your parents if you just don't feel safe," said Santillan.
Three of the teens were taken to the hospital in critical, but stable condition.
In all, eight people were crammed into the SUV.
