Avondale police seek help locating missing woman suffering from dementia

Police in Avondale need the community's help locating a 58-year-old woman who went missing Saturday morning.

Officer Ray Emmett with the Avondale Police Department says Mary Grinner was last seen by family members between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28. She went for a walk near 125th Avenue and Sherman Street to collect aluminum cans for recycling.

At that time, she was wearing a red shirt, dark blue jeans and teal, Adidas shoes.

Grinner is described as 4-feet-11-inches tall, weighing 100 pounds with brown eyes with short black hair. Plus, her right eye is permanently closed and she walk with a limp.

She has a tattoo on her right ankle that reads "RR" and she suffers from dementia.
