Teen killed in family dispute

Phoenix Police are searching for a man suspected of shooting and killing an 18-year-old during a family dispute Sunday afternoon near 34th Avenue and Indian School Road.

The family has identified the man killed as Dallas Orr. Daryl Orr, the victim's father, says his son was shot 7 to 8 times after an argument with another family member. Dallas was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say they know who the suspect is and are not going to release his name while they look for him.

Orr says Dallas had lived with him for 17 years in Denver before moving out to Phoenix to live with his mom last year. He said he didn't know what his son and the suspect could have been arguing about, but he did say Dallas recently moved out of his mom's house when she wouldn't let his girlfriend move in with them.

"Dallas was a great kid," said Daryl. "His last goal that he really wanted to get into was law enforcement." Daryl says plans were being made to get Dallas into the police cadet program with the Chandler Police Department.

Orr described his son as an avid football fan who wanted to play for the Philadelphia Eagles. He went to East High School and Thomas Jefferson High School while living in Denver.
