The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office officials are investigating a call where pit bull dogs were believed to be locked in a box outdoors.

Deputies say the dogs are alive, but they are aggressive and they have called out their animal crimes unit to evaluate the dogs.

The person who called MCSO claimed that the dogs were not fed or given water.

The City of Mesa's Animal Control officers were also seen at the home, it's unclear if they will take custody of the dogs.

A spokesperson for MCSO says the dogs were well fed, given water, and they had a fan blowing cool air on them.

An animal crimes investigation continues, but at this time the owners have not been charged.
