Humboldt Unified School District buses vandalized

School buses in a northern Arizona school district aren't running after what is believed to be a student prank.

Humboldt Unified School District officials say about 83 buses were vandalized. Some of the damages, which reportedly includes slashed tires, caused an intensive repair process and took them out of their normal schedule.

Employees came into work on Monday and discovered the buses had been damaged. Officials aren't releasing the specific damage that occurred.

According to officials, alternate transportation for hundreds of children and multiple field trips had to be cancelled due to the vandalism.

Police say the initial estimate for repairs is about $3,500.
