PHOENIX (AP) -- Authorities say a teenage boy waiting near a Phoenix bus stop on his way to school is dead after being struck by a vehicle.

Phoenix police say the accident occurred around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday when a truck towing a trailer collided with a pickup truck at Central and Glendale avenues.

The impact caused the trailer to veer off the road and hit 16-year-old Austin Lipko-Benito, who attended Sunnyslope High School.

The Phoenix Fire Department transported Lipko-Benito, where he was pronounced dead.

A second person was injured but treated at the scene.

According to police, a 19-year-old driver and a 36-year-old driver were involved in the crash.

Police say alcohol, drugs and speed don't appear to be factors in the accident but it remains under investigation.
