Phoenix police officers rescue dog left for dead

Phoenix police officers rescued a dog who had been bound and almost strangled. They found the dog hiding under an abandoned mobile home near Cave Creek and Greenway Road.

The officers were responding to a burglary call when they heard the dog crying.

When police found the dog, it was barely breathing.

Police say the dog is getting fluids and recovering at an animal hospital.

According to the officers, people were throwing rocks at them as they were trying to rescue the dog. Air support had to be called in to help.

Officers are working to find who is responsible for abusing the dog and leaving it for dead.
