"I don't know.. I've never had a bad time in Vegas," said Kourtney Kardashian.
Vegas is all about the party. Partying by the pool during the day, partying in the clubs at night. Gambling? That's everywhere these days. People visiting Las Vegas spend less on gaming -- their spending on partying is going through the roof. More and more, Las Vegas is a place for young travelers to let down their hair and to do it alongside celebrities.
"Every single weekend and sometimes during the week, you'll have the biggest DJs, the biggest music artists, the biggest pop stars, biggest reality stars -- everyone is coming to Las Vegas now to party," said Mike Snedegar, an executive with the Tao Group, which runs several Las Vegas party venues.
He says bringing celebrities like the Kardashians into Las Vegas keep the crowds coming.
"You might be at dinner and you turn your head and you might see Kim Kardashian.. there's Nelly or there's Janet Jackson.. you never know who you are going to run into," he said.
Promoters do their best to make sure that crowds run into booked celebrities who make big bucks just for showing up at a party thrown for them.
Nobody wanted to talk about what the appearance fees were here, but Radar Online reported in 2014 the going rate for Kim Kardashian was around $50,000 a party.
"To me, Tao is home.. I'm here tonight with my family, my mom, my sister, my husband, all my best friends.. we have such amazing memories here.. it's just fun," said Kim Kardashian.
Tao recently hosted her birthday party. The whole clan was there, along with dancing girls, a birthday cake and Kim's name up in lights. It's good business for Las Vegas.
"Not only do they bring press and notoriety, they bring a memory another guest takes away," said Snedegar.
Kourtney Kardashian was the featured celebrity at a recent pool party at the Marquee Day Club, another Tao venue. It had everything you might expect: bikinis, fireworks, penguins and the revenue was flowing along with the champagne.
so what does it cost you to attend one of these parties? You can start with a $20 cover. If you commit $100 dollars in food and beverage, you can get your own chaise lounge chair for the day. And if you commit to spend several thousand dollars, you can get one of these sweet loaded up cabanas."
Others say for premier parties the prices are even higher. So as we go forward, you can expect the old Las Vegas of buffets, black jack and showgirls to continue to give way to the new Vegas: lighter on gambling, but heavy on day life, nightlife and celebrity.
