Police: 1 injured in fight that began at Phoenix strip club

Police are investigating a shooting that took place around 5:00 a.m. Monday near Greenway and Cave Creek Road.

Authorities say after a man was shot twice in the leg and backside, he ran from the scene, then knocked on someone's door about a half mile away, saying that he needed help.

"As soon as we got here, we were looking for a suspect who had ran from the shooting. We didn't find anybody, so they apparently had left. But fire treated our victim now we are just trying to get cooperation from the on-scene witness.. hasn't been too successful yet, but we have detectives responding out here to take over the investigation," said Lt. Chuck Williams of the Phoenix Police Department.

Investigators say this all started at the nearby Jaguars strip club where two men locked their keys in their car, then hitched a ride with two other men, who dropped them off in the area.  That's where they got into a fight and bullets started to fly.

"When they came here, some altercation happened... we are not getting cooperation out here.. now we have one victim that was shot.  It is not life-threatening, but it certainly is serious," said Williams.  "We have a white vehicle with Hawaiian plates that left the scene.. black male drivers, so at this point, that's all we know."

Williams says neighbors in the area have stated they've had issues with the house, but authorities have let them know it's an isolated incident and they'll bring back safety to their neighborhood.
