Uber for Kids? Companies offer busy parents carpool alternative

Too busy to take your kids to school? There's an app for that.

Claudia Cowan reported on "America's Newsroom" about the emergence of a new, Uber-like car service aimed at helping busy parents shuttle their children to and from school.

Cowan reported that San Francisco-based Shuddle currently employs about 200 drivers, most of whom are women.

"For the monthly fee of $9, plus the fare for each trip, parents can monitor their child's route through the company's mobile app," Cowan said, explaining that riders must have a cell phone so the driver can text them a password that authenticates the pick-up.
