Several residents near Reems Road and Cholla called officers about a suspicious person in the area ringing doorbells.
The man would reportedly ring the doorbell, wait until the homeowner answered the door and then walk away.
Shortly afterward, police say they received a call from a nearby neighborhood saying they saw a man matching the description of the suspicious person climbing a block wall into their neighbor's back yard.
When officers arrived, an burglary alarm was ringing and a window was broken in the back of the home, but no one was inside.
While they looked inside, another officer was walking around the area and saw a man matching the description of the suspicious person.
The man was identified as 19-year-old Corey Brown, and after multiple witnesses positively identified him as the suspicious person, he was arrested.
Detectives served a search warrant to his home and say they found evidence linking him to several other home burglaries in Surprise, including two stolen firearms.
Brown faces charges for multiple counts of Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Trespass in the First Degree, and for Criminal Damage.
