"Before we would get alarmed if a child would eat a cigarette, but now just takes less than a teaspoon of some of these liquids to cause real toxicity in real young toddlers, and younger children in general," said Dr. Kimberlie Graeme.
That is because the little containers of e-cigarette liquid have a lot of nicotine. They can seem like candy to kids.
But drinking even a little bit, can lead to nausea and vomiting.
"After the nausea and vomiting when they are stimulated, sometimes it is followed by seizures if it is a significant amount, and then things reverse instead of being stimulated, all of a sudden they are lethargic and may even have paralysis," said Dr. Kimberlie Graeme.
FOX 10 visited Vape Central in Phoenix. They've got hundreds of bottles of e-cigarette liquid, there is every flavor you could imagine.
Ok so if you're into vaping, what do you do to protect your kids? It is just a matter of using a little common sense.
"Put it in a safe place up high on the shelf like a weapon, and lock it down, lock your juice down," said Roger Smiley.
