2-year-old boy nearly drowns in bathtub

A 2-year old boy was rushed to an area hospital after he nearly drowned in a bathtub at a home near 115th Avenue and Thunderbird.

By the time police and paramedics arrived at the scene Saturday night, they boy had been pulled from the tub and his family was performing CPR.

Authorities say the boy had been left alone in the tub.

The child was transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital and doctors were able to get a pulse, but he is still in critical condition.

Police are now investigating this case.

The boy's name was not released.
