Men suspected of shooting at Yuma police before crashing car

YUMA, Ariz. (AP) -- Yuma police say two men fired shots an officer before crashing their car into a street corner.

Police say the men, identified as 22-year-old Alexander Cook and 26-year-old Ramon Flores Leal, fired several shots at the officer while police attempted to pull them over.

Police believed they were involved in a shooting in Yuma earlier and tried to pull them over. The men fled and started shooting before crashing their vehicle.

Cook and Flores Leal were not injured, police say. Cook faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and unlawful flight from law enforcement. Flores Leal was charged with attempted first-degree murder.
