Sheriff: Man said to shoot himself after wounding roommate

FORT MOHAVE, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County authorities say a man reportedly killed himself after trying to kill his roommate and that the case is being investigated as a suicide and attempted homicide.

The Sheriff's Office says 48-year-old Wayne Sander told deputies that his 59-year-old roommate shot Sander before the man shot himself Tuesday.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Sander said the other man was distraught about a medical condition.

Sander was hospitalized in fair condition.

The other man's identity was not released immediately.
