Bullhead City woman accused of failing to report child abuse

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in northwestern Arizona have accused a woman of failing to report child abuse.

Bullhead City police say 23-year-old Rebecca May Rose Wright has been booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.

Officers responded to a traffic accident Monday that injured Wright's 26-year-old boyfriend.

The couple's two young children were in the backseat. Police say they saw a 2-year-old boy with severe bruising and swelling on his face and bruises on his arms and legs.

The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment. Wright allegedly told police that her boyfriend had hit their son and she didn't report it because she didn't want him to be arrested.

Police say Jacob Jeffrey Garbers now is facing charges of assault per domestic violence.

Neither Garbers nor Wright have attorneys yet.
