PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - The family of an American woman held hostage by Islamic State militants is inviting the public to a final memorial service.
It will take place Saturday, March 7 at Yavapai College in Prescott.
Kayla Mueller was an international aid worker who was captured in August 2013 after visiting a hospital in Aleppo, Syria, and held for 18 months.
Her family and U.S. officials confirmed her death earlier this month.
Mueller's family released a statement Friday, saying they appreciate the outpouring of support from the community. Local churches, schools and community groups held a candlelight memorial for Mueller earlier this month.
Mueller's family says they'll offer personal reflections of her life in the final memorial service and will welcome anyone who had been touched by her life.
