Man gets life sentence for killing lover's husband; dumping body

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A North Carolina man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in Arizona for killing his lover's husband and dumping the body at a New Mexico airport.

The Daily Courier in Prescott reports that 50-year-old Marzet Farris III received the sentence Wednesday for his role in Craig Stelmasek's death.

Prosecutors say Farris left Stelmasek's body in a van in a parking garage at Albuquerque International Sunport in June 2011. He flew to his Raleigh area home where 48-year-old Laura Jeanne Stelmasek joined him shortly afterward.

A jury convicted Farris in February of first-degree murder and conspiracy.

The judge, in a symbolic move, imposed a life sentence to run consecutively on the conspiracy charge.

Laura Stelmasek's sentencing is being delayed until May 22.
