Phoenix police: Man shot during confrontation with others

PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a 21-year-old man has died of gunshot wounds suffered from a confrontation involving several people.

Police said shots were fired Tuesday afternoon after the man and two other people went to a location to confront another person.

The man and his companions left the area while calling for assistance. They were met by responders and he was transported to a hospital, but he died of his injuries. His identity was not released.

Sgt. Jonathan Howard said police are interviewing people and investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
