Police identify man fatally shot after making forced entry

PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police have released the identity of a man said to have been fatally shot after forcing his way into the home of a woman with whom he had a domestic dispute.

Sgt. Jonathan Howard said 31-year-old Marcos Antonio Echavarria arrived at the midtown home just after 2 a.m. Saturday and forced his way inside.

According to Howard, Echavarria had an ongoing domestic dispute with one of three women who lived into the home and was shot by a person described as an associate of one of the women.

That person left before officers arrived. That person's identity has not been released.
