GLENDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) - Police say one person is dead after a car crashed into a power pole, knocking out power in a Glendale neighborhood.
According to the Glendale Police Department, a car crashed into a power pole near 75th Avenue and Orangewood on Tuesday morning.
Police say the man driving the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman riding in the car was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As a result of the crash, power lines were down at the intersection and 75th Avenue was shut down for several hours between Northern and Glendale Avenues.
According to SRP's outage map, power in the area has been restored.
Police say both speed and impairment are being investigated as factors in the crash.
