10-year-old Summer Bell brown killed in road rage shooting laid to rest

EL MIRAGE, Ariz. (FOX 10) - It's been two weeks since a Valley family lost their little girl Summer Bell Brown in a road rage shooting. Family and friends gathered at the Sunwest Funeral Home in El Mirage on Saturday to say their final goodbyes to the 10-year-old.

Having only spent 10 years on earth, Summer Melody Bell Brown leaves an everlasting impact on those who knew her.

"She was just a beautiful girl, she was very caring, smart, selfless, she loved to help others she was just a very beautiful soul," said Taniesha Brown, Summer's mother.

Like her poetic name, Summer was special.

"She liked bright colors she liked when we would dress up, looked good be stylish, she was a diva, she loved to smile she was a dancer, you know she was a genius, she was everything embodied that a perfect child should be," said Dharqiantium Brown, Summer's father.

Summer was laid to rest Saturday after her life came to an abrupt end when a disgruntled driver shot through the Brown Family's car, striking and killing Summer as she slept in the back seat.

No parent should ever have to bury their child. The Brown's say since nothing can bring back their little girl, they hope this tragedy serves as a reminder to everyone to slow down, take a breath, and remember life is too short to let hate win over love.

"If you need to pull over, calm down, take a minute to yourself, breathe, do that because this right here is going to end up ruining your life and someone else's," said Taniesha Brown.
