TEMPE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police say a child has died after he was pulled from a Tempe pool on Monday.
Tempe police say the 2-year-old boy died on Thursday afternoon. He was rushed to a hospital after being found in a pool near Rural and Southern on Monday.
Officers responded to reports of a missing person in the area of 700 E. Geneva after the boy's family said they had checked the house and pool and had not found him.
The 10-foot deep pool was extremely cloudy and the bottom was not clearly visible.
Members of Tempe fire also responded to the scene and one of the firefighters spotted the boy at the bottom of the pool and jumped in to pull him out.
There was no fence around the pool and investigators believe the boy was playing in front of the house and accessed the backyard through a side gate.
The investigation is ongoing, however, foul play is not suspected.
